Buddy Hield

By: Eddie Lester

Buddy Hield is the best player in college basketball this year. He is the frontrunner for the Wooden Award, the award that goes to college basketball’s best player every year. He averages nearly 30 ppg, and has hit many clutch shots. Earlier this season he led Oklahoma in the best college basketball game of the season. A 3OT loss to Kansas at Allen Fieldhouse. Hield put up 46 and single handedly kept OU in the game. Buddy is from the Bahamas and can score in a variety of ways. He can drive to the basket, or shoot from three. The three point shot is his preferred way. I expect Buddy Hield to lead Oklahoma to their first national championship.

Kobe Bryant's Retirement

By: Jimmy Olson

Kobe Bryant plays his last game on April 13 against the Utah Jazz. Kobe will finish his 20 year career and will go down as one of the greatest basketball players of all time. "When the time comes, you never know," Bryant said. "I might be sitting here with tears flowing out of my eyes. I doubt it, but it could happen. I don't know. We'll see."

Kobe will finish his career at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, at the same stadium where it all started 20 years ago. Many people have been following Kobe’s “retirement party” all year long, but some may not be able to afford the last game, where courtside tickets to Kobe’s final game are being valued at $20,000-$25,000. It’s going to be a packed house on Wednesday, and it will most certainly be an emotional night for number 24.

Kris Jenkins' 3-point buzzer beater gave Villanova the victory over North Carolina and their second National Championship in one of the wildest finishes of the NCAA tournament. In a great national championship game, Villanova completed the upset over North Carolina. It was a great game, and many people watched. The game was back and forth throughout the night. It was a great match up. Just before Kris Jenkins’s great shot, Marcus Paige hit a spectacular shot to tie the game. This was a game that many people will remember for a long time.
