How to make a paper airplane!

By: Jimmy Olson

All you need is a piece of paper.

Step 1: fold your paper in half

Step 2: you need to fold a triangle shape at the top, and fold it to the center crease that you originally made.

Step 3: you need to make another fold onto the center crease, but this time, you need to make the fold further down the piece of paper

These folds make the body of the plane

Step 4: you need to make a small crease at the point of the airplane going straight across, making a flat end

Step 5: refold your paper in half along the original crease

These next folds make the wings of the plane

Step 6: fold a straight line on your plane, approximately 1 centimeter from the bottom of your plane

Step 7: repeat Step 6 on the other side of the plane

If you follow these steps correctly along with the visual below, you should have yourself a very aerodynamic paper airplane that should fly very well!

What you’ll need:

  • Floral wire

  • Floral tape

  • Artificial or real flowers and leaves (in the pictures they’re pink, but you can make them white if you want a more traditional looking crown)

  • Scissors/wire cutters

STEP ONE:

Wrap the wire around your head where you want the crown

to be placed and twist the end around to make a circle. Be

sure the loop is not too tight or too loose, the flowers will

bulk it up later on.

STEP TWO:

Make three to four loops with the wire to give the crown

some strength and occasionally twist the wire around the

previous loops. I would suggest that for your first few loops

you only twist once you get back to to the beginning of the circle, but once you reach the last loop, twist the wire around every few inches so that the loops don’t slide around.

STEP THREE:                                                                                                               Wrap the crown base in floral tape to stabilize the wire.                                                                                                                     STEP FOUR:

Cut down your flowers and leaves, leaving enough stem to tape down.

STEP FIVE:

Place a blossom on the ring and wrap tape around both the stem and the crown to secure.

STEP 6: Continue taping flowers and leaves until you have a completed crown.

How To Make an Earbud Holder

By: Nora Lee

We all have earbuds, and we’ve all forgotten them somewhere. Come on, let’s be real. Human beings have suffered through tangled earbuds since the beginning of their existence. Most human beings will never go on to find a cure for this incredibly infuriating problem, so until then we have to be crafty and create a temporary one.

Here’s an easy craft that can somewhat help all of your earbud problems. It’s simple enough for anybody to do! (And that’s saying something, I’m terrible at even using scissors.)

You will need:

  • An old mint container. (You probably have one somewhere.)

  • Something sharp.

  • An old keychain.

  • Wrapping paper.

  • Mod Podge.

  • A cup.

Step 1:

You will need to remove the label from your mint container, which is simple enough. If you’re having trouble, you can using a sharp object to scrape the remains off.

Step 2:

You will need something sharp, (like a screwdriver) to drill two holes next to each other at an angle to insert the old keychain into. Assuming you have a certain kind of keychain, you will need to take off any charms and put the new one in the container.

Step 3:

You will need to put mod podge on the lids and cut out a circular design on the wrapping paper. This is where the cup comes in handy. You cause draw a circle around the bottom of the cup when you place it on the wrapping paper and then cut it out. You can then adjust it to fit the lids of you container and then glue them on. (Be sure to put the glue over it, too! Don’t worry, it won’t show up when you’re done.)

Then let it dry and you’re done. Enjoy your torture free listening.

DIY Baseball Bracelet

By: Gabriella Valldeperas and Zoey Ford

Do you love baseball? Do you love bracelets? Well, here you go! A fun activity for boys and girls! (Sorry for the cheesy beginning.) Anyways, keep reading if you want to know how to make one of these.

Supplies you need:

  1. A baseball (you can make two bracelets from one)

  2. An Xacto knife

Step one:

Cut out all the stitches all the way around the baseball.(Make sure you cut as close to the stitches as possible.)

Step two:

Once you have cut the leather-it may take a few times- remove the leather pieces.

Step three:

Remove the strings/stitches. They should be easy to pull off in one piece.

Step four:

At this point, it should look something like this:

Step five:

Locate the point on the seam where the stitching begins and ends. Cut the remaining leather. Do NOT cut of the excess string! You’ll need it!

Step six:

Cut the middle of the seam in half. Each piece should be about eight inches long. As you begin to unravel the stitches, stop when you have about four inches of string unwound. This should leave about one to one and one half of leather sticking out.

Step seven:

Be careful to not cut off the string as you cut off the excess leather. You should have five inches of leather in the middle at this point.

Step eight:

The leather will be sticky at first, from the adhesive, but it will come off after wearing the bracelet a few times. Also the leather is twisted from the shape of the ball, but it will shape your wrist when the adhesive wears off.

That’s all there is to it!
